Can you help with determine breed and gender...Ameraucuna? Rooster?

I feel this is obviously a rooster with that large comb and wattle but I have NO knowledge of chickens or raising them and am needing a crash course... Which is why I'm here! The chicks I bought were supposed to be all female but I know you can't be completely certain some times...I feel like I can hear a half-hearted crow at times but maybe females do that too? This is the only one of this type I have so I have nothing to compare to...

Not an ameraucana, looks to be splash colored, also almost definitely a boy.

Absolutely a cockerel, do doubt about that. I suspect he is one of the hatchery "designer" type hybrid blue eggers. Basically an Easter Eggers when it comes down to it.

Oh! Now that you mention that, I do remember he was in a tub with the Easter Eggers I bought as well. That makes sense! Thank you so much!

I agree, he appears to be an Easter Egger type cockerel. He's gorgeous!!

agreed, easter egger type cockerel. easter eggers can be a mix of anything, with the intent of having the blue egg gene. So basically, he's a mutt who might carry the blue egg gene.

I doubt he's an EE. He probably just a hatchery quality splash orpington.
