Can you neuter Pigeons?

Hi,
I've been working on making Pigeons legal pets in my town and I was wondering if they can be neutered. Or to prevent them from having babies is it best to get only 1 gender? Because I feel like they might with the other birds in my area. Please help!

Just take eggs away..

Its important to replace the eggs with fake ones... otherwise the female will get sick from laying too many eggs and using up all her energy and calcium in her body.

And, NO, you can't neuter pigeons.

But you can eat the squabs.. they are delicious... and you would have free range organic home grown meat.

OMG, no you can not neuter pigeons.Pigeons are legal in most cities because they are NOT poultry and even in NYC pigeons are legal.They don't carry avian flu virus. And I have been raising pigeons 40+ years, and I sure as hell wouldn't eat one...unless the grocery store runs out of chicken.
