Can you tell the gender with these two? 11 weeks

Thanks for letting me know the color :) . Is there a difference between grey or blue or are they the same thing? My Rooster is a blue then :).
In Silkies there is a grey variety... I believe it is actually penciled but grey would be the correct term for the SOP in Silkies for that variety. And blue for the one you have.

In other words yes there is a difference and no they aren't the same thing.

Some colors that are the same are called something different depending on the breed.. for example... black copper in Marans is called red brown in Ameraucana. And a brown leghorn pattern is the same as partridge in Welsummer but called silver in Ameraucana.

Thank you for asking! :highfive:

I just hatched two new silkie x d’uccle chicks this week and they were born the same color as the roo above so I think they will be buff also. One has a single comb already and one doesn’t. Were yours also born with the chipmunk color?

Mine were a solid buff color. What color are the parents? Mine is a buff silkie roo and a porcelain D’Uccle hen.

Blue silkie Rooster and Mille Fleur D’duccle. My Mille Fleur just molted and is getting her spots so I can’t wait to see what she will look like. She’s a bit sad looking right now. Bald head and bald patches all over her body. I bet she is embarrassed.
