Hi from north of Saskatoon, Sk. Got 33 "Heritage Breed" chicks 7 weeks ago. Looks like I ended up with 5 breeds. After reading on BYC I now know the Ameraucana's are Easter Eggers and it looks like I got 5 of them. Still trying to figure out exactly who is a roo and who is a pullet! Anyone else from the prairies? How do your chickens cope in winter??

Yeah, definitely! I myself am trying to find local serama breeders. I live near Ottawa but the closest one I can find is a 6 hour drive past Toronto. With a gas guzzler that's way too harsh for me.

No, I moved to the Philippines a few years ago. Hopefully I can come back after university. I raise chickens, ducks, turkeys and goats.

I recently got serama chicks. If you give me a year, I should have some good stock, and maybe I could send you hatching eggs. I'm six hours east of Ottawa, though, but my family wants to spend a couple nights in Ottawa, and pick up chickens on the way home in the next few years. We might be able to arrange something.
