Been in both areas.... was on PEI, which usually didn't get full force hurricane, but still got hit every year.

Where I am in Manitoba, we did get a tornado a few years ago, but it's a rare occurrence.... generally, the air just hurts the face.

Which means you get the occasional hurricane, right?

Don't know what I'd prefer, milder winters with a possibility of having everything I own washed away, or colder and snowier but no chance of even the thought of a flood...

Occasionally yes. Last year’s pretty much completely missed us and apparently thats the norm. It usually hits around Halifax. The standard high winds we get in November were worse than the hurricane.

You off of Cape Breton then or Mainland NS?

Cape Breton is in the north. We’re as south as you can get. 1/2 way between Yarmouth and Shelburne.

Although, considering what the weather has been like the past few years, anything is possible, anywhere, now. Like that wind blast that took out half of Ontario last year! I was lucky and hardly any damage, but still didn't have power for five days.

I was there for that. My neighbourhood was back up in a day but my mom’s was out for a week.

So last Friday we were hit with an ice storm. Now one week later predicted high tomorrow is +28. No wonder my animals are confused.
My pony (shown is avatar) is shedding heavily. Last time I brushed him out, the area looked like a white rabbit exploded.

Ice storms are "fun".... I was in Eastern Ontario in '98.... 10 days without power.... fun times... is actually one of my favorite childhood memories.

26 here. I've already started to use my AC since my trailer heats up way too much in the sun.

Poor pony, he must have been so itchy! And yes, mine are all confused, too.

During the 98 ice storm, I was in a tiny pocket of houses that never lost power. Neighbours across the street weren't so lucky...
