Canadians check in here....

This is the only one right now, a little Magpie duckling. Not perfect so far as markings, but he's a healthy thing, nice and big.

I *almost* regret you showing me that site, I’m not going to be able to get any until next year or the year after 😭. Plus, they have OEGBs, I’ve always wanted them! I tried unsuccessfully to hatch some a few years ago.

I've hatched out some OEGB in December (stupid thing to do, don't hatch in winter), and have some eggs in the incubator right now although considering my luck lately... But yes, I know what you mean! They have some colours I desperately want! As well as breeds I'd love to get, too.

He’s really cute!

70 birds I can’t buy :hit

I hatched some March 3 of this year and it was too soon for this winter in my area. They are not quite feathered out yet, and it is still cold, still snow.

My March babies are out now, have been for a week, although there's still snow in the forest and some nights go down below freezing (barely). They seem to be doing fine, thank goodness.

It always depends on how much chub they have ;) Canadian babies need to be chubby to survive outside (ducks or other!)

My elevation is pretty high, I still have freezing nights... I put them into the "summer cottage" during the day, then back into the insulated coop at night. I need to make them a new fence because their dad is attacking them. So they see the garden at the moment but they aren't walking around in it yet. I am looking forward to having them outside during the day, it is less to clean at the end of the day... I appreciate the fertilizer they provide but sometimes it is a chore to clean up after a duck!
