Canadians check in here....

We are 40 minutes from you and yes lot`s of up and down, crazy.
Ours have access to outside run and we do not do artificial lighting,
so hope with longer daylight they will start soon. Waiting on fresh
duck eggs again;0)
And hello from sunny Alberta... :thumbsup

Hi @Hamaarahof
You're a neighbour Huh? Cool!
Welcome Smilies!.gif
This is an awesome place full of great people.

From your avatar I'm going to make the assumption that you show your birds. What birds do you show? Are you going to Wetaskiwin in the 17th?

Hi,
You are correct we try to have show quality. Picture is from Red Deer last year, our hen won Best in Breed. The
Pekin ducks need more work, lol.
But may take the Saxony ducks to
Wetaskiwin if I can trade a work shift.
We missed Stony. Maybe we meet
You at the shows? What do you have?
:highfive:

I'm new to this site but have had chickens for a couple of years. We moved from Ontario to Nova Scotia this summer but I had to leave my hens behind because I worried they wouldn't travel well.

I am looking for more chickens but having a very hard time finding Heritage Breeds in Cape Breton. I really want Marans, I also am looking for Easter Eggers, and / Ameraucanas but miss chickens so much at this point I'd probably take anything.

Hi, I'm in Truro. I have hatched chicks for my sister before. She has Black langshans (her rooster is langshan) buff brahma hens that should start laying soon, a blue splash cochin, a blue cochin langshan cross, a couple of buff orpington hens, and a barred rock hen.

I could dig out my incubator and get some eggs from her for hatching if you were interested.

I'm supposed to be ordering in some french copper Marans eggs in June from someone on BYC. I've never tried to hatch shipped eggs before. My cousin who I'm hatching them for only wants 1 hen and intends to sell any of the others that hatch.
