I just hatched I want to say....20ish silkie chicks in November :D I love them. Where abouts are you in Ontario I know of 3 silkie breeders, all produce quality silkies :) I will have some eventually for sale (maybe, unsure if I will be able to part with them yet haha). They are just 7 weeks old now.

Easiest way to pinpoint my location is to say I'm just SW of Barrie. I'm definitely looking for a decent breeder... My resolve broke and I met with someone on kijiji, and now I've got three little juveniles sitting in quarantine as I deal with a serious, serious lice and round worm issues. It was so bad I debated culling, but the poor little dears are the sweetest things, and they associate me with safety, warmth and relief at this point, so Its been a long haul, but I'm not that heartless! They're starting to look a bit better and have a bit more meat on their bones, but decent stock they are not!-

Hi Everyone! I'm just south of Peterborough, or just north of Cobourg.

I've got Roosters: Black Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Lavender Orpington, Crested Cream Leg bars, Easter Eggers.

Hens: Black Copper Marans, Cream Legbars, Welsummers, Silver Laced Wyandotte's, Easter Eggers, Olive Eggers, Lavender Orpingtons.

I've got eggs in the incubator and under two broody hens. I'm thankful for the mild weather and for my chickens! Never a dull moment!

So nice to see other members from Ontario. I'm south of Kemptville. From reading through the posts, it seems like B.C. is overrun with chickens. :lau. My sister lives in B.C. and loves to brag about how much snow they have. Actually I'm a duck person but help with my daughters chickens and peacocks. Love this forum as a gathering place but looking forward to the time when we can again have poultry shows and sales. Love to spend a couple of hours at the community grounds, chatting with the locals, and trying to resist buying ... well maybe one or two more.

Hello fellow Canadians! I'm from Alberta, and wondered if you guys know of any Canadian hatcheries other than rochester?
There is a community on Facebook for eggs in Canada in small numbers from hobbyists, and another from big hatcheries. I found many small hatcheries in BC and Alberta that way, but it depends on what you are looking for. Chicks are on a separate site due to federal legislation. Canadian Poultry. Need some links?

Oh cool, I didn't know that!
Sure, links would be great! Thanks!
