Candling eggs

Highest Lumens possible! Most flashlights these days list the number of lumens of light it produces. 250+ is good, but the higher the better.

Piece of craft foam with a hole cut in the middle, taped around my Mini-mag.

Is there a good way to candle eggs especially dark brown (Maran) chicken eggs without spending an arm and a leg for a commercial Candle device? I have used an empty toilet paper roll and flashlight but it was still really difficult to visualize inside the egg.
I did look at them before setting them to incubate. I will check again on Friday 2/16. This will be day 7.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I just bought a cheap candler from Tractor Supply co.
It's $15 and we'll made.

What you have to do is look for air cell development and the rest of the egg getting darker. If you see a glow in the egg after day 10, it is likely not developing
