I candle before I set eggs to see how porous they are and how big the air cells are. Again at 3 or 4 days because I can't control myself, 7 and 14 days to check air cells and toss early quitters, then at lockdown. If air cells are larger or smaller than what they should be you can adjust humidity during incubation.

I candle my eggs after 7 days. The reason that I candle my eggs is to get rid if the eggs that are not developing so they don't spoil and stink really bad
^^^^ MY Answer is the same ^^^^^
I used to candle more and draw out the air cell in pencil to track the size etc etc but then I got a case of the butter fingers and dropped an egg and felt like a murderer and now I candle less often.

Oh I never considered checking how porous! Great idea especially if you've had issues with humidity or air cells! Thanx!

About the same here too....and I trace air cells.

I'm aware of the pros and cons of candling during incubation. I would like to know when YOU candle during incubation and for what reason.
I candle every single day because I like to see daily changes within the egg.

I am careful and VERY steady with the eggs.
