Hi

I've candled my 8 day old Quail Eggs and I've found some weird things, I don't have any photos but I can describe what it looked like.

They all looked fine a few days ago but when I checked today/tonight, in one egg I found a ring, it was like a blood ring but it was on the side, the embryo was inside of it and the outside was all empty? I've had a few blood rings before but that's nothing I've ever seen. Please help is there something wrong with my Quail!

I'm really not entirely sure what you're describing, but I can tell you what I would do in this situation...

I would mark that egg with a pencil or Sharpie marker, then I'd re-candle it in 2-3 days. If its alive, you'll notice some big changes. They embryo should be growing and moving. If its quite, any of the remaining veins you may have seen on your last candle should have dumped into that blood ring, and the eggs will have a brownish/yellowish hue, rather than the healthy pinkish one of an egg that's alive.

Hopefully its just one of those weird situations where it looks odd and ends up ok :fl

Good luck!
