Candling

my normal sized coturnix eggs are so far along all i can see in every single one is dark, well some I can still see the air sac, but most i cant.

Julie's Silkies :

Does the air sac have to be in the big end for the egg to be good. I have one thats dark on the side with air sac on the bottom

I have a button quail egg right now (due to hatch on sun or mon) that it's airsac is in the pointy tiny end which is not the norm. HOwever everyone says the cutie should hatch, as they've had some the same way hatch so if that's what youmeani think you'll be fine as long as it's fertile.

But yeah the norm. is the air sac in the large bottom end.

Julie's Silkies :

The sac is middle side of the eggs. not in the ends. if that makes since. LOL

Julie's Silkies :

Did you see my egg pictures on here? The arrow is pointing at faint red lines that's the start of an embryo

The one egg with the dark spot on top looks just like the good egg in the link you post on the right. So I'm guessing it's a good egg. I have about 30 eggs in the bator of silkies and road land reds, I only saw the one silkie move . alot are dark like that other egg and some are clear. going to candle again this weekend before I decide who is no good.
