Maybe rinse the salt off. Tuna won't hurt them.

I agree. If it is just an occasional thing, I won't worry about the salt, but on a regular basis I would rinse it.

Spoiled pullets my wife only feeds me tuna once a month.

You can buy Jocko's seasoning, it is the next best think. We moved from Eureka 4 years ago.

It's an out of the way restaurant (not on the highway) that looks like an old school cafeteria/dive... BUT they cook their steaks and a few other meats on their open pit that you can view through a window or go hang out and chat with the pit master a bit if you like. They say Jocko's stands for "genuine oak coals cooks our steaks". It was about $12 for a large steak sandwich which wasn't a sandwich at all but the Spencer steak simply rest on top of two large slices of garlic bread. They are located in Nipomo, Ca. If you go on a summer weekend... either have reservations or plan on waiting a couple hours. They have a couple tables available in the back hallway near the kitchen if it's just two of you and you don't mind. They serve simple shoe string style fries with that "sandwich"... which I very rarely like but these are always tasty. I believe their meats are dry aged. It was very affordable for a delicious steak that I can't actually make better at home. Spencer might be the same thing as rib eye. But one great thing... being able to go in there with helmet hair, sunburned face, being exhausted from riding dirt bikes or quads all day long and seeing people from all around who got the word. Nobody looks at you like scum, cuz many are there enjoying the same local beach type activities in the Pismo Beach/ Morro Bay area. I unexpectedly ran into people I knew on several occasions who were in from Ventura, Visalia, or Bakersfield... all several hours in opposite directions from this little whole in the wall gem. A place where the kids fit right in because their ain't nothing quiet about it. They do also have a bar if you care to have a drink while you wait... I recommend regular ice tea and NOT Long Island Iced Tea if your waiting for very long.

I mentioned Jocko's because I saw the location under their avatar. If you put your general location on yours... It can help people make suggestions when you have questions without having to ask where you are first... things relative to your weather and such.. like diagnosing cocci or diarrhea or decreased egg production type stuff.
