Can't Machine Quilt...Why Does Machine Skip?

Sweet! I love a new sewing machine, even if it is just new to me. I'm not sure JoAnn will let me have another one! This one is my new one- Juki DDL 8700- not a quilting machine, but it is a fine fast machine. I have a Singer Quartet- you can just see it in the reflection above the light arm that says in the book that it is a quilter, but I haven't tried quilting with it- Anyone have one or experience with one?

We also have another Juki, the DDL 555 a beast of an antique- 30+ y/o and strong as an ox! 2 Sergers, one three thread and one four thread, and we have a Elnita home machine. That's 6 altogether and we do use them all. I love the idea of quilting, especially the freehand machines, but again I'm not too sure JoAnn will let me get another one.

You do all sorts of stuff I have NO idea how to do! I just piece and quilt, and barely can free motion, still working on getting better at that.

A little quilt humor this a.m.

That cartoon is hysterical, Cyn! Even though I don't quilt, I crochet and I think quilters do amazing things! Some ladies in my Creative Blessings group are quilters.
Anyway, I got a good laugh as I sit here waiting for my doctor appointment - been in extreme pain since last week with a possible kidney stone.

Stay tuned...my new machine will be shipped on Tuesday! It's gently used, comes with the original stuff, got it for about half the price of the same currently-selling model new, plus UPS shipping. FINALLY! And we're getting a new barn built, too, so work on the pad for it will be done either tomorrow or Tuesday. Life is good !

So excited for you, Cyn! You've been wanting this machine for a long time.

Well, the chicken hatching season is over and my sewing room is almost back to being a sewing room, instead of a brooder!

Love stopping by this thread to see all the new pretty things to get my creative mind back in action. Hoping to get to do some quilting soon!

Love that cartoon too

Wouldn't it also be adorable if the women were replaced by chickens?

I'm so sorry! Tom has kidney stones on occasion so I know how it is for him. Hope it subsides soon.

Yes, I have! I can't believe I can stop looking now, LOL. Augie is gorgeous.

Haha, I think chickens would work, too!

I have two pieces waiting for my new machine to arrive and for me to become familiar with it, a baby quilt and a wall hanging, all sandwiched together.

Received this message from the seller of the machine I bought-she was going to send it tomorrow but went ahead and did it today. I like a conscientious seller.

"Hi Cynthia,
I was able to get this professionally packed at our local UPS store this morning so the machine is on it's way to you. It should arrive on Wednesday - at least that is what the folks at the UPS store told me. I also insured the machine as neither one of us wants to be out the money if it got damaged in shipping.

UPS tracking number: (XXXXXX) - this may take a few hours to get into their system.
