2) What is the behavior, exactly. Can't walk, moves backward by pushing back with hocks
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms? 3 days
4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms?NO
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma. Feet are limp, will flex slightly when stroked.
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation. No idea., was fine , then an hour later went into the coop and not walking. I wonder if it flew off the roost and landed wrong???
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all. Good appetite, Meat bird crumbles.
8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc. normal
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? I put a round padded piece of card board on bottom of feet and v wrapped the toes in a normal position. Also have him hanging in a sling in a box inside so he can move his legs
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet? I want to treat myself.
11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help. not at this moment. But no wounds, no swelling, does not feel hot. Looks completely normal except limp.
12) Describe the housing/bedding in use Was in a large coop with dry shavings. Not picked on, or bullied.
so, am i just prolonging his misery? should I cull him? How long should I try this current treatment before there are signs of improvement?
