My DW has moved a horse to some new stables and they have alot of feral and stray racing pigeons living in the barn. They are causing a bit of a problem with mess and numbers so they are looking to get someone in to rid them. I want to try and 'live' capture as many as possible before that happens. How would be the best way to do it? I did think about trying to put a box with some bobs in front to try and catch the strays but alot are the offspring so won't know what to do.

:pop Good luck! Where will you put them when you catch them?:)

Once you live trap them... what will you do with them?

If you let them go outside... even miles away... they will home back to your place again.
Details details! Might be an excuse for a bigger loft! Went back today and I didn't realise quite how many there is, easily over 200+! I'd like to catch the ones with rings to try and reunite with the owner but chances are they would be written off. There is some really nice coloured ones that caught my eye. The black ones luck stunning. I spoke to the owner and he said that he saves some of the younsters for his son who has pigeons near London and he has also released some he caught at folkestone which is on the south coast. He doesn't think any have returned! He also removes eggs but they just keep laying! I must admit, it is a problem for him as they are making quite a mess and there droppings are all over the horses in the stables and rugs and feed.
