With Raven in the front and Terrick in the middle with Col, Pike brought up the rear again. Although the tunnel was pitch black to his eyes, he refrained from using his light stone just in case Terrick and Raven's ran out. He figured that since all he would be able to see was the back of Terrick and Col, he could follow them mainly by sound without a light. After walking in a half crouched position through the low tunnel, Pike soon felt a rather painful burn beginning to form in his stomach. He started to dread the part where they would be forced to crawl through on their stomachs, the thought of the wound becoming covered in sand and mud made his head hurt.

Raven held the unlit light stone in one hand, and her sword in the other. She walked down the tunnel, using the light from Terrick's stone to guide her.

The tunnel's floor started a gradual decent and the ceiling height varied greatly. In places, it was plenty tall enough to stand, then, only a few feet further on, forced the party to duck to get through. But as they went on, the ducking became more frequent and more extreme until at last Col stopped and rested against the cold wall. His head was swimming from the earlier loss of blood combined with the exertion of navigating the tunnel with his hands behind his back.

"I can't get through there," he said, breathing a little hard as he looked at the section of tunnel just ahead, one that promised to realize Pike's fears of a belly crawl. "Least not with my hands tied."

He knew the bandit was right and the bonds would have to be removed. Terrick looked at Pike and Raven. "You want me to go through first? Then send our friend here after me? Unless you want to go ahead?" he asked, looking at Pike.

Staring blindly into the dark, Pike nearly ran right into Terrick and Col when the group stopped. He too was breathing heavier than normal for reasons similar to Col, but didn't need to use the wall for support. "Let me go in front, I'm the biggest." He replied to Terrick's inquiry. "If he," he jerked his head towards Col, "decides to do anything funny he certainly won't be able to fit past me. And if anything, I'll be the first to get stuck." He added the last part for a little bit of dry humour, making fun of himself and his 'roundness.'

"How much further is it?" He turned towards Col, wondering how far he could expect to be on his belly.

Raven looked to the three men silently, waiting for a decision. After a moment of watching them she turned her attention compleately to Pike, watching his body movements. "your hurt."

Pike didn't look at Raven when he answered, "its nothing". He didn't want neither Raven or Terrick making special allowances for him because of his injury. They had a job to do, and he was determined not to hold them back. It wasn't the worst injury he had suffered over the years.

Raven tilted her head a little "Does it need to be wrapped to keep the dirt out of it?"

Terrick had been too focused on their mission to realize that Pike was bleeding. "Raven, do you have any more of those bandages?" he asked, completely understanding why Pike hadn't said anything. "Man, at least wrap it up before you go crawlin' through the mud."

Raven put her sword in its sheath and pulled off her pack, digging for bandages. She stood and walked over to Pike "Lift your shirt."

(Sure!)

As Dani walked through the moonlit woods, something moved suddenly in the brush nearby.

Merek had woken only a short while ago to find himself lying on the damp forest floor, bound and gagged.  And he had the worst headache he'd ever felt in his life.  "Mmmmrppphhh mmmmmmm" he tried to call through the gag, unable to see who was walking on the other side of the brush but hoped it was a friend.

"Eh? Whose there?" Dani shook her head. "Whose there!" She repeated though she knew she wouldn't get a reply. She ran towards the brush and tripped over Merek falling on her face into the ground.
