~*Carolina Chickenstock 2011*~

Hope everything is not all gone by the time we get there. We have 3 hours drive and neither of us are early morning folks...just hope we are awake enough to follow our directions. Can anyone say how long it takes to get to the swap grounds in Lincolnton after we leave I-40? DH was asking. Hope there is an XL shirt left for me. This is our first big swap/sale and we are just looking (ha ha)

Should be there by 10:30. Thanks to HenThymes for all your hard work!

A special thanks to Tricia and Kevin who kindly organised today's Chickenstock event! Allison and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, it was good to see everyone again and to those who bought aprons - thank-you, to Kim who bought the quilt and pillows a bigger thank-you, we are so pleased that you are still using the apron you bought earlier on this year!!

To the lady, whose son won the Barred Rock chicks, I never did get your name but if you read this please let us know who you are.......

Gavin and Allison.

Ahhh, I am finally home. It was nice to meet everyone today. I thought it was a pretty good turnout. My son was determined to bring something home with us. I'm not sure I will ever convince him that we are to get rid of birds as opposed to acquiring them. I did get me a T-shirt- Yaaa!! Now off to take a nap.

, 3 shirts, one of those ADORABLE & DELICIOUS cupcakes from Tricia, and DD had to get a trio of OEGs!

Surprisingly I bought NO birds!

The raffles were a great success, we ended up with $303 for the "kids in Need" program. They are very appreciative and thankful as that will definitely help some children this year.

We have finally gotten everyone settled back into the barn along with a couple of new additions (how does that happen

), thank you Amy, little man seems happy and is settling in to his new accommodations nicely. Sandy, Hailey cannot talk about anything else and he is now in the laundry room so she can keep a close eye on him.

I just got home not long ago, birds are just fine. I think they slept most the way home like me

. This was my first chickenstock and I think it was awesome, came home with two more than had planned on but I think that is a general rule that you always come back home with more birds lol. I got a black silkie cockrel and white silkie chick, both of which are absolutely stunning, from bat cave silkies, and of course picked up my new buff silkie girl from tricia, she is beautiful. I hope this is a annual thing, I will definitely come again.
