~*Carolina Chickenstock 2011*~

New to the boards! I saw this on CL and couldn't find it, so a google search brought me here.

I'll make the trip and bring half a dozen black bantam cochin chicks. Five weeks. Looks like 4 pullets and 2 cockerels Mama is *gorgeous*

May also do a bit of shopping

We may even have a few small wire cages available, the kind you find at the shows when you weren't expecting to buy something.

pinkwindsong: I have EEs in my flock, but they are the one breed I am not getting rid of! There is only 5 of them though, and I think there is 1 roo and 4 hens. For a while I was suspicious that one more of my hens was a roo, but now I think it's just the one roo, and he is a definate roo, big red comb and all and they are only 7 weeks old. You were the one who was possibly interested in a BR cockeral, weren't you? As long as I get my green card in time we will be bringing a BR cockeral along with a couple RIR pullets they are close to 8 weeks old. The cockeral is friendly enough he was just sitting on my arm the other night.

ETA: I'm looking for true Ameracaunas too.

If anyone is interested I can bring my Wheaten Marans cockerel that I have available. He is a gorgeous boy, I am just cutting back most of my LF to focus on bantams.

I also have a trio or serama chicks that I may be willing to part with as well.

Here a picture from about a 1-1/2 months ago, he has filled out nicely since then.

I have 3 Barred Rock hens. and love them don't really plan on breeding but if they were to breed i would want them to breed true, so I would make them a separate space...

mainly I want to be self sufficient farm as much as possible for a family of 4. this I think will take a couple / few years to accomplish but thats what I see int he future.. I'm still just half way thru my first year of having and raising chickens, I may be getting ahead of my self?? some days Ive very sure of myself and my plans and then the next. I fear Im thinking too big or too far in advance to be logical.

I look forward to meeting you and hopefully we can talk a bit of chicken....

I think Debra is bringing a pair of LF silver laced Cochins, I know she is bringing EE's and Ameraucanas in blue, black, maybe white and some multicolored ones. I will probably be pairing my roos with some of her pullets to sell, may do some trios.

Also, I plan to bring a few Frizzle roos and smooth hens to go with them.
I have found a blue Mottled bantam roo in my brooder and he will be coming. I think I have a solid blue pullet to go with him. Not sure yet if she is coming.
