Carton Method to Hatch...Cardboard or Styrofoam?

Thanks for all the wonderful feedback!

I was leaning towards cardboard because it's more breathable and a more natural product...I had questioned the styrofoam just because it wouldn't absorb the moisture in the air like cardboard may. But, it sounds like I don't need to worry about it!

I'll plan on using cardboard, with the bottom points cut off for breathability (is that a word?

We don't own a microwave, so I can't nuke them first...what exactly does microwaving them first do?

I do know that in a fire styroform puts out a toxic fume. I dont use it for that fact alone. Dont know if the bator puts out enough heat to cause this but I dont take the chance
