Castle Delight Seramas - Post your photos and share your stories!

Looks like my little Othello baby is going to look exactly like
your Othello triplets! Hoping she is a girl, trying my hand at
sexing by wing feathers. We'll know for sure in a few weeks.
What is the earliest you can tell gender?

Based upon comb development mainly?
Behavior wise I was initially worried when I put the
sexed hatchery chicks in with TC, because TC was
So aggressive, but that only lasted a few hours.
I had to leave the mirror in the brooder because
TC shrieks if she can't check herself out. All the chicks like
to sit and gaze at themselves.

Lol she sounds like my Zephyr when he was the lone chick (story on my website). He would spend hours telling the chicks in the mirror about his adventures

And yes, that is how I base my sex. Seramas mature very early compared to other birds. Males are usually sexually mature by 12-14 weeks and girls can start laying at 15 weeks. Most of mine have.

Really? I have a 13 - 14 week old pullet right now!! should I expect her to possibly bless me with my first egg EVER soon?

I have 9 out. The first 4, maybe 5 are from my eggs. Seramas I got from Carla. They hatched in May and I already have babies from them..
