Castle Delight Seramas - Post your photos and share your stories!

I'm only on day 3. Putting room-temperature water in made a huge difference, so I'll stick with that instead of the really warm water from now on. For lockdown I think a sponge sounds like a good idea... I might have a little room by then. Right now I'm completely full with 14 eggs (I added one more of mine in) and my thermo/hygrometer!

When I came home from lunch today the little butts were out again. Hadn't been for too long though because there wasn't as much of a mess to clean up as I was dreading. Smart little chickens... Their coop is allllllmost ready for them. Now I just want to wait for slightly warmer weather before I put them out!

Wanted to post the pics of my newest babies that hatched a couple days ago, eggs from Laura.

1st: Thaddeus baby

I am so happy to hatch the 2 Thaddeus babies, it is a blessing that he will live on in these babies.

You are driving me crazy with all the pics of these cuties. I am itching to get a few soon. On the list for eggs this month--so cross my fingers and hope the hatch will go well. I can't wait and this is not helping me!!! Oh well, I will keep looking and try to be patient for mine to come. Soooo beautiful.

The set up and the babies are so cute!!!! Normally I don't like anything to stage-y but your pictures are absolutely adorable... I want to use one of those pictures as my desktop background for the rest of the month! Congratulations

I had to pull 8 eggs out of the incubator because there was no development whatsoever, but the 6 I have left (the 3 biggest & 3 smallest) are growing like crazy! They're already providing entertainment even in their shells and I've become addicted to candling... they develop so fast I'm afraid I'm going to miss something if I don't check every day. I'm hoping I get lucky and all 6 make it to lockdown!

They are like Christmas presents to me especially since I will not be able to hatch anymore Thaddeus eggs.

I am so happy that Thadd will live on. I am hoping the 6 eggs of his that are developing in my incubator keep going and I will have a couple as well.

bummed... my little Silkied isn't doing very well today.. we had a temperature drop last night and it's possible she got chilled I guess.

They are in with several other babies that are 5-6 weeks old and everyone else is fine. She just seems listless. I put her and my frizzled boy in a smaller cage with a heat pad and heat light, water with electrolytes and vitamins and food... saw her drinking a bit ago but still worried.. positive vibes and suggestions welcome

Sounds like you are doing everything right. You might want to try some yogurt and/or hard boiled eggs. Those are both good things for chickens not feeling well. Are you using poly-vi-sol vitamins? Those are the best...3 drops 1x a day for at least a week. Sometimes if they are really bad, I do 3 drops 2xs a day for a couple days. Liquid vitamin B is also good. I always have a bottle on hand. It helps perk them up.
