How in the world can a Roo be castrated?

I read in a book, referring to Jersey Giants, telling how large a castrated roo could get.

I had no idea a chicken could be "neutered".

    How in the world??
  2. Do a google search on Caponization.

It requires a bit of "surgery" consisting of a small incision under the wing.

Here is a good link I just found http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/PS051
