Gopherboy, am so sorry about Gizmo, it breaks my heart knowing you went through so much with him.

I have lost too many that way.

thanks Nerfy....Gizmo was DH's xmas gift last year, he was a 3 week old almost dead stray that was frozen to the ground when found....I like to think he had a really good life...no matter how short it was, but we loved him, and miss him soooooo much!!

I just LOVE your pictures!!!!

I just took these of Cinder and Jax (whom we are now calling Binxy)

Dont know if you can tell but little Binxy is acctually laying on Cinder...the two of them are so close, so fast. Cinder really missed Gizmo, he would stand at the front door and whine waiting for Gizmo to come back in ...that went on for a week untill we brought Binxy home.

Oh I LOVE MY CATS!!

Last night, I was actuallly able to sleep through the whole night, and about 2 in the morning, Mika decided that he wanted to knock over the Christmas tree. Bad kitty. Haha

Gopherboy,
I remember you posting his pic and telling how you found him when I started the found siamese thread. Why do they think it is always greener on the other side? My Morton is like a bullet when it comes to getting out. The once ferals have no desire to go out. They know they got it good!

Samtheman.. I can relate. We haven't had a tree for years just because of my feline varmints.
I love all the kitty pics!

nerfy, omg I love the picture with the kitties in the sunshine. You know, every single pics that are here remind me of the personalities of the kitties we have had through the years. How wonderful, I am in awww over each and everyone of your feline friends!

Remember the neighbor's cat I was complaining about? The one that is skin and bones?

I went out to get some wood tonight and she was on our front porch, shivering from the cold - it is below freezing. Poor thing doesn't have enough fat on her to keep warm.

I broke down and brought her in the house. Since we had her, I cut the burrs from her fur and was upset to realize that she was declawed. If people expected her to hunt that way - I can't figure it out!

Later, while holding her, I noticed a hard lump on her chest. I gave her to DH to hold while I investigated. At first I wondered if she had a microchip in her but it seems far too big. It feels more like a pellet from a pellet gun! There is even a wound site under her front leg.

I don't know if she is the neighbor's cat or some idiot just dumped her about the same time they moved in. That is possible. People always dump cats out here because we are surrounded by dairies.

She has the quietest meow. Most of the time it has no sound. I know they de-bark dogs, anyone ever hear of them doing that to a cat?

Here's a picture of the poor girl. She has gained a little weight since we started feeding her a couple of days ago - but not much. She is constantly hungry.

I am not a cat person. I've always been kind of afraid of them. I love dogs.

Having said that, I work at my vet's office. Last May we got 3 tiny kittens rescued from a house fire. One was eventually adopted and I decided I was going to take one of the others for a barn cat. Was going to live in the barn, catch mice, leave me alone therefore no problem. I picked the boy that had the most attitude and had bitten all of my coworkers. I am the only one he didn't (and still hasn't) bitten. They all loved the little girl who is so sweet. I ended up taking both.

No, they don't stay completely in the barn. They spend most of the time on the front porch. I have even made them a box complete with warm fleece blanky.

And I have to say I like the "mean" boy much better than the girl. He runs to greet me when I get home from work everyday. He helps me feed the chickens and goats, when I get the (Kawasaki) mule out to feed he rides with me. He even helped me herd the goats into their new, larger pen. He has the attitude of a dog.

Here they are when we first got them at the clinic.

Oh, he's also gotten in the hot tub with me.

I just found this thread. I have three cats, Ozzy, Geezer and Tubby Banana (my 2 yr old named him).

All are male, neutered, rescued and indoor. Unfortunately, Ozzy slipped out the door on Monday evening while my husband was bringing things in from the car and despite all of our efforts we've yet to find him. (We're running radio ads, checking with the shelter, asking all the neighbors and offering a reward).

Please, fellow cat lovers, keep my cat in your thoughts. We are desperately missing him and so sad to be without. We've had him since he was a kitten, he's almost 5 now and has moved 4 different times with us. I'm becoming less and less hopeful although we did get a tip yesterday from a neighbor who thinks he saw him running with a pack of 5 other cats (I'm doubtful because Ozzy is not friendly with other cats, but hopeful that if it is him he might be safe and have some street wise companions to show him the ropes.)

This is him (and me) from about 3 or 4 years ago...He looks the same, I don't.

Please think of him. I miss him so badly and my toddler is heartbroken.
