Cat Lover's Corner

Thank you all...Your stories are so encouraging. I'm such a mess...I feel ok for a few hours, optimistic even and then I end up sobbing again. I spent all day volunteering at an adoption drive this afternoon and that was cathartic. On the way home I drove up and down the mountain we live pm asking neighbors and double checking porches. my husband is on his way home from work and we'll double our efforts this evening.

I sincerely appreciate the stories...It's very reassuring. My worst fear is that he's injured somewhere or completely lost and slowly starving.

One of our cats is a wreck without him...he roams the house meowing for his companion and is driving my older cat (who isn't interested in play) crazy...

I've read the info about escaped cat behavior so we stopped shaking the food bag on the second day. We've been doing a lot of searching at night, we assumed he would be less mobile then. We literally live on a mountain with sparse houses and lots of open woods. I'm hoping he's chosen a house to hide near though.

Thank you again though...You've certainly renewed my hope a bit.

He's gone. My husband talked to a man who said he found a cat matching Ozzy's description in his yard on Thursday...he thinks he was hit by a car and was already gone when he found him that evening. He said he had no idea how long he'd been there.

I am heartbroken. I hadn't even looked very hard in that area because it was further than I thought he would have wandered. I am so disappointed in myself for not finding him in time and being able to keep him safe. I am so, so sorry Ozzy. RIP.

I'm so sorry. I know how it hurts. Don't blame yourself tho....you did all you could. At least you know now and don't have to keep wondering about him. I'd rather know even if it's not a good outcome than keep wondering.

I have 9, six are 'barn cats' if that is what you want to call the fat, spoiled and plain rotten ones that live in the barn.

They are all spayed/neutered.

I tortured a few of them for Christmas pics

I am so sorry TubbyChicken.
As hard as you can try to keep them safe, some just get that bug to wander. I have lost a few that way, and have blamed myself for not doing everything I could to find them, wondering why they took off in the first place, all that stuff. Cats are so unpredictable at times.
I guess that's why I love them so much. Many

. your way.

Thanks Nerfy

I am so sorry about your cat tubbychicken. When Dh and I were first dating, he brought me two little motherless kittens he found. One lived to be a young 'terror' and one night after a date we came home and couldnt find her. She got caught in a mini blind cord and hung herself. It was horrible. I know how you feel and I am so sorry about your fur baby. may he rest in peace
