Really? Thats pretty cool. Elis was born in the engine of a car, his mom was a stray, but now she, elvis, and bug man are happily lazing around the farm
I absolutely LOVE my cat Accio, despite being criminally insane. He was found at about a week old screaming on the doorstop of a hobby farmers house north of our old house. One of the feral cats dumped him, he is the offspring of a feral momma and a bengal cattery escapee dad. He is CRAZY, he has a VERY varied diet (he eats everything and anything, will try everything at least once. He especially loves peas and carrots, and vegetables). He can take on a 35lb Mini Labradoodle stud. And he wins. He is an incredible hunter, and actually killed and ate our entire Deer mouse population LOL. He even pretends to be chasing the mouse if we give it to him already dead from the trap. He can and will try to steal your food. He is angry, growly, and downright CRAZY. But I love him to bits and pieces. He is my baby.
He is named after a charm in Harry Potter, you know.. "Accio! Firebolt!" (Goblet of Fire).
He seems to think that attacking you while you are in the shower is FUN. He lurks outside the curtain, and then flies in like bat cat.
This is Accio a few months ago at just under a year old.
Here he is at 5 weeks old when we got him
Even then he could slap the miniature poodles around, he once made Kitty our mini poodle cry in pain! AT FIVE WEEKS!
He also sits at the top of the stairs, and as you're coming up biffs you right in the face with his claws out.
I LOVE MY CATS! my big boy is Maximus a flame point, 13, he looks like Ozzy and Beastie. I have a darling "failed bottle fed foster" black cat, 7, LBC (little black cat). I also have a fat and greedy calico named Pumpkin she is about 4 years old.
All are indoor cats. We have a big time coyote population over here in the hills. No one wants to attract the coyotes to the houses, so most cats are indoors. I'll add pictures when I can.
My cats have their own webpages, lol. I haven't up dated these in a few years.
Bashful and Butterscotch are now 15. I've had them 1 month less than I've had my husband. They are littermates. I used to have their mother who was a beautiful calico. I didn't really care for cats until she came along. I called her Psycho Kitty. She terroized the neighborhood dogs, lol.
It is such a heart breaking event when we loose a kitty without having closure.
Yet when we raise our eyes to the sky, ask for closure, find proof that furry feline friend is ok...you must realize that finding the body doesn't mean they are not ok.
Look back towards the heavens knowing that there is a Queen to visit, hay bales to romp through, gold trimmed fine china to lick milk from.
Mice to chase, and sunny windows with pillows to perch upon, to dine on fresh catnip watching the late night show on squirrels running!
We have all lost our animal friends, the good times are there, but we often feel that we should have, could have just done something different, but, we are all on loan here, eventually returning to that heavenly light.
God bless you Tubbychicken and I hope your heart heals quickly.
A friend found a litter of orphan kittens. At the time she was expecting triplets so I took them in to see if I could foster momma them. This is Princess Gracie May. She is the one we kept. We figure they were maybe a day or so old at time I took them in. All lived and got great homes. I had to beg husband because at the time we already had two adult cats I rescued from a shelter.
Cats have been the love of my life since I was born I believe!! We currently have 23 cats. We lived in Naples, Italy for a while and I was heavily involved in animal rescue there. We ended up bringing 17 stray Italian cats back with us when we returned to the US. Some were ferals we had fed for 3 years. Had to trap them to get them ready to fly(shots and health certificates), boy was that an endeavor!! They are happy indoor/outdoor garage cats. We live on 5 acres and they just love it. I now work for a humane society and have aquired several 'unplaceable' ones from there. A couple were bottle babies I just couldn't part with(foster flunky). A couple are just strays that wondered up. All unique and individual, that's why I love them so much! My DH is extremely tolerant!
