Actually my day did get better I went to bed as we had a power cut.and felt miserable, Isn't it funny when you are feeling down your animals seems to know because everyone joined me!! Sorry for the mess not always so untidy.

Here is Roo chicken watching

This is Rubin

Anyway Besa seem a lovely cat, wish I had a female Russian Blue the kittens are adorable.

Night for now and thanks again for your concern

Chicken watching looks like fun!

Roo and Rubin are beautiful. :). My animals always make me feel better also. They just want to be around us. I spent a couple hours this morning with my chickens, cats and dogs. My human kids were still sleeping. It was a good start to mothers day. :). My speckled Sussex jumped up into my lap and there she stayed for 30 min. So sweet. Hope all you mothers have a great day!

I just looked up highlander lynx's. Omg they are awesome! I have a uncle named Lynx. Always thought it was such a cool name. How are they for pets? Look of a wild cat so I wonder. Very cool.

Don't you love that time of the morning when no one is up and demanding, just you and the animals. Its winter now so finding a bit difficult to leap out of my warm bed quite so early but do so because Henry my Rooster doesn't give up until I go with breakfast. Roo always helps, he has his rounds in the morning. Even the wild birds are waiting patiently for their breakfast, and the fish! come to the surface for snacktime.

Its just so peaceful. I envy you with your chicken on your lap, mine are very wary of me at the moment I think its because Ginger has gone, but my two chicks are growing so fast and are not scared at all. They are so warm for such small little things, wouldn't mind one as a hot water bottle!!
I hope you enjoyed your mothers day, I got a lovely baking book from my son so going to try out with my bantam eggs - not sure if they are big enough for some of the receipes though.

I'm also very curious. But as far as I've heard any cats close to wild aren't kept for fun due to the fact the females and males spayed or neautered still spray anywhere and everywhere to mark their territory and can be very aggressive. But Ive also heard stories of wild cats being very good pets just higher maintenance of course this all depends on each cat and each living environment and each situation.I LOVE cats especially wild cats big or small.

I do love the early mornings:). My SS was given to me a month ago. She just started jumping up onto my lap today. First of all 10 of my chickens. It is a really neat feeling to know one finally trusts me enough. All my time spent with them. I'm sure you know. :). I bet one of your chicks will buddy up to you. You just never know which one. I noticed she hung around a bit more than the others so I would carry her when I put away the others. Finally got her trust. Figure out which of your chicks is most willing to hang around and start carrying her around when doing chores. :)
I did have a good mothers day. Thank you. I got cards and a mom necklace. Best of all they made dinner!! Your son had the right idea. Cookbooks are always a win for me.

Never a truer word was said than 'CATS RULE DOGS DROOL' - Why is it that dogs will eat anything your eating, looking at you with eyes saying 'feed me, you haven't fed me in years I'm starving'

BUT cats - I prepared a mini banquet for mine, especially for Rubin, of fresh fish, chicken (not mine) with all the gooey bits from the pan, chopped liver and fresh bottled water, separate of course and what do they do sniff, wag tail, and promptly go and drink from the scummiest water ever, the dog bowl, munch a few dog biscuits and leave with a parting look 'must do better human'.

To add insult to injury the feral cat got in and scoffed the lot, I know it was him because of the lingering 'L'eau de chat' pong is the only word that comes to mind, its impossible to get rid of but have found vanilla essence works quite well.

Anyway had a cuddle with Chisi this morning so things looking up, have a nice day

The highlander lynx cats/kittens are fantastic pets. They are more dog-like than cat. You can walk them on a leash, play fetch, come when called. All mine have grown up or are raised with my other cats and dogs. Everyone gets along just fine.
I do have the original Queen that does have more wild blood in her and she stays out in the woods more than here at home. She will come home about 1 or 2 times a week to get her special can food and may spend the night with me, then she goes back out to the woods catching mice, squirrels, rabbits or whatever she does out there.
They are special cats, ears that cure back with the tips of the ears touching the back side of the ear. We raise them to get the extra toes (polydactyl or Hemingway). Some are born with a natural short tail, a hock or a long tail. We do dock some of the tails by a Vet. if needed.

I will have a new litter this week, hopefully.

A very good friend in Alabama is a great breeder of these fine cats, look her website up: rottins.net and her site will tell you what you need to know about these great wild looking cats.

The photo above is from an older litter, the washed out red one in the middle was a stud until the cafe next door did away with him after we complained about them pouring used grease in our ditch! Notice the curled ears.

A cat more like a dog would be right up my husbands alley. He likes dogs way more than cats. He said no cats when we got married. I had two little girls (he later adopted them) they love cats. 6 months after we were married he got them a kitten for Christmas:) your cats are very cool. Thanks for sharing. Please update us with baby pics when they get here.
