I would rig up a way to be able to sit in my car and then pull a string to open the cage. That way if he decides to get a nibble of your leg before he leaves....he will have to jump in the car first!!

Put the trap in a big lawn and leaf bag, back car from garage,, wrap wet dish towel around tail pipe,,, tightly tape open end of bag over wet rag so not to melt bag,,, re-start car, go have a drink,,,, after 30 minutes no worries, if you don't want to look, tape up bag, trap, coon and all, toss in trash.

I am taking him later this afternoon to a friends lease. Over 1 thousand acres on the Ohio River and letting him go.

I have no idea what kind of rooster I've got. I bought the acre, chickens included. Never knew anything about them except how to order them (grilled, baked, fried) before this property purchase. That's why I love this forum! )

I sure hope he doesn't make it this far up river.

Just because he owns 1000 acres doesn't mean the coon will see anything but as close as you can get rid of it, if you carry it 1/2 mile to the river bank thats an attempt, pulling up the drive and letting it out with possible neighbors near is not so good.
