Cedar needles in water

I have cedar trees near the coop, is it bad if the needles get in the water for the chickens? I could rig something up to stop it, but wasn’t sure if it was bad for them

It's perfectly fine.

Might make the water a bit acidic but if the chickens are drinking it they will do fine and might like it better.

If you're raising mosquitoes, it'll make the water inhospitable for mosquito larva.
