CENTRAL FL SWAP MEET!!!!! See post #720 for new thread

Thanks Kelly for hosting the swap I had a great time. I love the BC roo I bought too he is right at home in his new pen. The little meaties settled right in and ate like little piglets.

Oh before I forget, There is talk of doing a swap down here (Ft Myers area) come February ish. Be on the look out for the announcement.

Those meaties eat and DRINK more than anything I've ever seen. The amount of water they go through is even more amazing than the food!

Thank you so much for hosting the swap! It was really neat got to put faces w/names & stuff like that. It was to cool & yes we want to have one up here in Orange Park poss Jan or Feb! I have a perfect spot for it & I will advertise around town for it so hopefully we will have more people. Lots of people would have gone that arent on BYC but I know ALOT of people up here would have come had they have known about it! They just didnt know it was happening~So maybe we can get together up here my parents have field that is about an acre big & we can have it there. Really nice open field & we dont have to worry about droppings or anything left in the yard because they dont have chickens. Yall let me know if yall are willing to come up here to have one & we will try to have an xtra LARGE one w/people who arent on BYC but need to know that we exsist & are willing to help local chicken growers. We will also know how long we have to hatch chickens if you let me know yall wanna be there. I can do it either month just gotta make sure of what date so I can plan to have a babysitter.

Thanks for hosting, Kelly. We had fun, even if we had to leave early. Halfway home, Sofi decided she wanted to go back to the chicken show.

Mr. Pixie is in his cage on the porch. I'll introduce him to the girls in a couple weeks. I told my DH that he will truly learn where the term 'hen pecked husband' comes from then. I'm sure when he has put on some size that he will rise up and take control of his girls.

We could host a swap. I have a 3 acre open field right beside the house, but outside my fenced yard. It would be great fun.

I couldn't make this swap, and desperately wanted to go. I will definitely be up for one in Jacksonville or Orange Park. I should be ready with the coop and run by then

Found out this a.m. that DH ate the 5 dozen eggs in the fridge this week.

Ha, in retrospect should have come yesterday and taken whatever I could get my hands on lol. DS desperately wants a couple of silkies (saw none at the fair yesterday, whole point of going). Keep us posted when the next ones, whereever they may be, fairly close to me will be going on. Learned the hard way I need chickens sooner than later
