. We had a blast and thanks Ladybug for hosting it. It was so nice to meet everyone and talk. I brought my husband so I would behave and not buy as much and ending up buying more because he was there. Shane picked up 13 of Ladybugs duck eggs, 2 different sets of quail trio and a pair of Light Brahma. I bought 2 khaki campbell ducks for my friend to. So much for not getting to many. Lisa thanks for the quail eggs

I don't have any chickens yet (I bought some Welsummer eggs from LilEmilysChknPen!), so I figured I could keep myself busy today with my camera. I had so much fun!

I know I had a blast, I couldn't stay long but we it was so nice..
My DD got a lovely gamebird pair from peepsnbunnies, and my FIL got some quail from cat123. The only problem we had is that we couldn't stay to long

Yes, thank you so much for hosting, I had fun , it was nice talking in person to other chick aholics. I will see about the penchicks this week.

Peeps thank you for the roos, I have a new favorite thing- YOUR ROOS, they were very happy to get out of the truck and in a pen, and all so tame.
and the show girl!

Sunnychic- great pictures ! good luck with your eggs

Leslie- it was great talking to you and your FIL,

chicken zoo- so sorry to here about your loss!

I came home and found , that the husband, or the son, or the nephews (no one will confess)- some one was trying to be nice and clean out the one of the bators and they changed the tempature on my EMU and RHEA eggs, that I hav been sitting on for almost 55 days,( manually turning about 5 times a day) and the temp was on 108, when I got here....................... The rhea eggs were hatching on Tuesday. and the EMU would be hatched by the 5th. I am almost ready to throw all of the bators away! ( i have a 3 cabinet bators, 2 home made and one GQF, and one of the homemades ones I had emu/rhea eggs in the top and i put freshy hatch chicks/ducks/quail in the bottom, for about 72 hours before I move them to the broaders. I had 5 ducks, in there that just hatched on thursday........... Appreciate someone trying to help----------------- BUT......... I not sure for how long the temp was high, but cooled the bator down and left them in there, the smell this morning is pretty bad, so I will be thowing them out.

I wouldn't throw them out so hastily...maybe only 1 of them stinks. When I got home from vacation last time my bator was at 107 & most of the babies still hatched...it takes a lot longer for the inside of the egg to reach that temp than for the air to reach it. Don't give up hope when you're this close!
