Chalk like poop

I will, I am currently deciding where it will be easiest to take them. Thanks again!
You could be dealing with almost anything including Mareks disease. It really would help you to send in a chicken body to your state vet for a necropsy to look for what is killing your chickens. Here is a list of state vets including MI:

Michigan State at Lansing looks like the only place listed on the link. It would not help that much to have a local vet to do a necropsy. The state vet pathologists are used to doing those, and they know how to do cultures for common poultry diseases and to get testing for Mareks. Unfortunately they may be a little more expensive than some states. But call and tell them you have backyard chickens, and just want to learn the cost and how to go about getting the bird there for next time. It is always less to drive the body there, but MI is a large state, so overnight shipping may be necessary.

Yeah I noticed that. Probably makes it easier to keep track of illness's in the state, Michigan has quite a few chicken farms.
It's actually pretty close to where I live, so it works great! The price is $190 for a necropsy, a little pricey, but manageable. Thanks for the heads up, I'll give them a call today!

I took a bird in last week and I just got the report back this week. I am not sure what a lot of it means, the final report says: Cerebellar malacia.
He also stated that she had a brain protrusion. I think he is referring to a vaulted skull? I am starting to think this was a waste of $190.
