This is a link to the Challah bread with pics, including my lovely Marans eggs.
The eggnog recipe came from The Williamsburg Cookbook, which is a fantastic rustic cookbook.

Eggnog (12 cups)

6 eggs, separated
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. whipping cream
1 c. milk
1/2 c. bourbon
1/2 c. brandy
1/2 c. light rum
nutmeg, freshly grated please

beat egg yolks with the sugar until thick.
Slowly add the cream, milk, spirits.
Chill.
Whip the egg whites until soft peaks form and add to the mixture.
Chill and let ripen a few hours.
Sprinkle with nutmeg before serving.

When you pour it, it will smell strongly of liquor, but you won't be able to taste it. I modified the recipe a little for the benefit of my jean size. I used half and half instead of cream and 1 % milk.

i love Challah and we bake it all the time....as for the homemade egg nogg - i'm not as brave. i always found store bought egg nogg to taste suspiciously of bologna, though. yuck! happy holidays!

I am sure I don't even want to know why your goats like alcohol

The Challah recipe looks great. I have bookmarked the page so I can make it later. It is hard to find Challah in North Carolina. Only place I have found it is at Trader Joe's. I like to use it when I make french toast. My grandkids just like to eat it...

We tried to work out the cost per loaf on the Challah. It's around $1/loaf. The Challah at our local grocery store is not true Challah and costs more than $4/loaf!!!
