I have read that you can still incubate your chicken's egg 30 days after no rooster. I am not sure if that is true or not, but my question is, if I change my rooster, how long do I toss eggs until I get the breed I want? Maybe not toss eggs....but you get what I mean.

At least a month. I just hatched chicks about 7 weeks ago, certain they would have a pheonix dad, and nope, all 5 came from my NN male I had removed weeks before collecting. Some of those suckers stuck around a while apparently

The person who gave me the Splits tells me that she separated the Orpingtons and the Wyandottes at least 3 weeks before she incubated any eggs.

But the only way that the combination of a Splash-Laced Red Wyandotte Rooster, a Lavender Orpington Rooster, Silver-Laced Wyandotte Hens, and Buff Orpington hens can produce black chicks -- all black with no leakage of any kind -- is Lavender Orpington X SLW.

(That's not the weirdest thing about this hatch either. There were about 10 or so of these black chicks and not one of them is male even though that combo should not have been sex-linked (I'd wanted a male)).
