I'd like a fresh water stingray...I'm afraid to attempt a saltwater tank i'd be sad if I messed it up and killed any of the cuties i'd like.

He was really hard to care for and died in 3 months. You have to know how to breed freshwater feeder shrimp. To keep a ray. You need a wide tank with at least 2 feet of water. He was a tea cup stingray. I will buy another one when I learn to raise feeder shrimp. I also had a pirahna that waas 7 years old. He passed away 2 -3 years ago.

Oh that's atleast good news! I wouldnt need to breed fresh water shrimp because a local petstore we go to every now and then sells fresh water glass shrimp (and other shrimps) as feeders for very cheap prices.

I had java moss in my tank. If you can grow java moss and breed shrimp. You could sell them and bring is some extra cash for your animals. I used to breed them but somehow the small cory catfish ate them. I will do it again if I can find another tank and maybe 2 or 3 10 gallons for the feeders. I used to buy my feeder shrimp on aquabid.com and will go back on that soon

Yes, I was the one who posted before about ups. From now on, I will only buy eggs that can be shipped by ups. With the usps priority mail, 4 out of 6 boxes that I received looked like they had been used for soccer practice. And the other 2 boxes had been handled roughly too, because most of the eggs in them were scrambled. I've got eggs in the bator right now that were shipped ups...23 out of 25 eggs are developing beautifully. Yes, I'm sure I'll eventually receive some from ups that are damaged, but I'll take my chances. Right now, I'm very impressed with them.

I'm glad you posted that info Shelley, I may have told my mom no about shipping UPS this morning if I wouldnt have known that it seems to be the better bet. I'd see why too!

Iagree too they can still get hurt sometimes in the UPS, but it's a better option than USPS if you can help it IMO.
