Chantecler Breeder and Owner Database Project

The coast is a great place to be if you can get used to rain.

I lived in NE Wa, love the area yet.

I havent seen any of the other color varieties, want to focus on the Albertans.I am looking forward to getting my first in several months.

I do hope to be hatching some Icelandics this spring also, these two will be my main effort this year, I may have some Bantams, still wondering/thinking about them.

There was a large show/meet last winter not far from Seattle that drew a lot of breeders, I dont know if there were any Chanteclers there or not. Is anyone in Wa breeding Chanteclers now? I know there is in B.C.

Hi! I am a brand new Chantecler owner. I have only buff at the moment - 4 hens and 1 rooster. I received them when Star Bright Farms in MI had to downsize.

I'm in contact with a few different places to get some of the white and I would love leads on any other breeders for the other varieties.

We're running under a mini-farm and I am trying to get set up to raise a few different rare or difficult to find breeds by 2015.

Welcome to the thread. I am about 3.5 hrs north of you.

We are slowly gaining breeders here in MI, of both Partridge and Whites. There is a breeder in Birch Run, just south of Flint.

I forgot to add yesterday that breeder/hatchery is John Blemn (sp?) at Birch Run, MI, he has some excellent Chanteclers that he has winning at shows. He was an exhibitor at last years Chickenstock.

I plan to go this year also, its a great gathering here in MI.

Anyone who has Chantecler chicks availible to ship to California please let me know. I would like to get some for our family homestead.

I'm in Michigan, too, in the Thumb area now but I am from Birch Run originally. Do you know of anyone around with Buffs available? I started with some from Sand Ridge but I need some new stock. Thank you!

Hi I was just wondering if anyone knew which breeders Cackle Hatchery received their Chanteclers from. I read on another forum that is was possibly John Oakes and John Blem but of course I'm trying to confirm it so its not just hear say. I was just wondering if this was true so I know where my chicks bloodline came from. From what I have read this is the first year Cackle has offered Chanteclers so they should be pretty pure still.

Were you able to buy chicks from them this year? I was under the impression that they would not be selling any until next year. Interesting.

I also saw on the CFI forum that they were supposedly from Blehm/Oakes, but I don't know that it was ever verified. John Blehm drove down here from Michigan a couple of years ago to get roosters from me, so it is possible that some of my birds are in the mix.
