I am not a "hatchery" but will ship Partridge Chantecler chicks starting in mid-late April. (Working on finalizing my annual NPIP.)

Thanks

Do you mean a minimum? On farm pickup is no minimum & it is not humane to ship less than 25 chicks.

What do you get if you cross a white Chantecler roo with a partridge female?? What do the off spring look like?
Interesting. Will they still retain all of the other Chantecler traits though? It will depend on what genetic colors are hiding under the white & the partridge.

Good ideas and I checked most over the years. Most sites show partridge chicks (Wyandotte's, Rocks, etc.) with a brown forehead, but mine with spotted foreheads seem to mature into just a good partridge adults as mine with brown foreheads. I have marked chicks for a few years to see their development and have had discussions with Shelly and just wondering if she or anyone else is finding any difference.Hi,![]()
What do you think about checking out the partridge chick down pattern in OEG or EOGB. The ABA has a wonderful link on their website to an atlas of chick down. Maybe some help there.

I mention the OEG and OEGB because they are so popular and have been quality bred for so many decades , it follows their chick down examples for each genotype may be more correct than in other scarcer breeds with wider chick down variation per genotype. Yes, I would expect difference in chick down if the partridge was based on e+ ( Black-Breasted-Red) or eb ( Brown).
Best,
Karen
