I would take the advise of teh judge over anyone on a forum. The judge seen and held the bird. We can only give our opinion of a photo. You have a start. Keep us informed. Also keep teh CFI informed.

I would not use a bird of mixed breed to start a new variety. If you want a Blue Partridge, go with a Blue or Splash Plymouth Rock and a Partridge Chantecler. The cross would be better. You never know what a sexlink is carrying and would pass on to the next generation.

Take a Blue Rock male to a Partridge Chantecler female and a Partridge Chantecler male to a Blue Rock female. Take all the offspring that looks good for type and color and mate those. Then take that generation and mate back to a Partridge Chantecler. A new variety project may take 10 years, but it will be nice when it is done.

What are these?

Their mother is a splash Wyandotte and their father was a NH/Black Sexlink.

A Blue Patridge Wyandotte may work. But we need to stay close to what the orginial cross was. The White's last cross was a Plymouth Rock. Then they culled heavy for type and a cuchion comb. You want really tight feathering. Whatever you use, make certain it is right for color in each own breed. Using a cull would only end with lots of culls.

How old are your Chanties? Thanks.

My chanties are 8 Months old. They are big girls, some of the biggest i have seen. I do have some smaller hens that are laying a slightly smaller egg but still a good Medium size.

Wow! Lucky you. I haven't heard of Chanties here in the States that are laying that large of an egg...at least not yet.
