Chat N Chicknfun Thread

I meant on the BYC site, there are like 16 PAGES of posts that no one ever answered, most of them from newbies! :(

once I discovered the button, I have been trying to answer them......at least a few every day. But some are over 2 weeks old! I feel so bad, lots of newbies just really need to know someone is listening.

Anyone ever notice the "posts unanswered" button? There are so many people that never get any feedback.
This is why I have quit posting on my other thread; no one ever answers my questions. Here people have a far superior acceptence of others.

found out that dad built a chicken tractor/coop for my flock.. YAY!!! my ees will be a flock to them selves.. and my brother was subject to chicken math.. went to get two ee roos just incase came back with 8 birds. 3 rir roos, 2 ee roos, and the rest ee hens.. even a lil cripple. later this year we have some culling to do and a stew pot calling. nice hens and pretty roosters are pets that give us eggs.. the rest... dinner. and dad likes heavy hens better so im thinking the rir hens are going , as are the one hen that lays a thin shelled egg.. no matter what we do its always thin.. makes such a mess. but if shes our broody judy.. thats what she will be for life.. we have to find out first..

OOOHHHHHH NO! I did not know or see that! I will try to see if I can help. I don't know that much yet either, but I will try!

I think even if you just say "I have no idea, sorry about that" it helps lots.

I have also noticed that the ones that haven't been answered for two weeks, that I then answer, often someone else then answers too.

I guess the reason for that is because the "new posts" button is so big, lots more people hit that button, and just getting a post on the "new posts " lists greatly increases the chance that someone who DOES know the answer will see it and answer.

I am not sure we are nicer... :D. I think it is just that we are a group of people that try to check this thread every day. So, you have a higher chance of one of us reading what you said and responding.

OK, maybe we ARE nicer!

And lilminx, YEAH! On the chicken tractor and chickens. So much fun! :)

I have never noticed that button either.....I will check it out too, I believe you are correct in saying that the newbies are looking for answers and may become discouraged!! We can't have that. I was a newbie once too, looking for a response! I will begin tomorrow! Great thing that you brought this up!!

OK, I have news of our Silver, FINALLY!!!!!
She has made the trip safely, is getting settled in, and just tremendously busy helping her sister......YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY.....she made it!! I was worried!

Yay Lilmynx!!!!!!! Oh, you should make him some cookies!!!!!

Anyone heard from Bama? Tony?

OK, I have other news.....I got 4 out of 5 chickens hatched. Well, 5 hatched but I had to put one little one out of its misery. It had alung sticking out between it's head and wing. and entrails.....EEEWWWWW, was a bloody mess. I noticed it about 2 hours after it hatched, cuz I pretty much saw it's shell and knew it hatched, then heard horrible LOUD chirping from the other room, later. When I went to investigate, I saw it......OMG......So, I did what I thought best.
Not a great day, but I am very thankful also, as I have 2 pure silkie babes out of the 4

Hey, where is this button located?? Is it on this page/thread??

I agree with you that folks don't get replys sometimes. Hence, over 1 1/2 years for me to jump in and commit....love BYC and it's folks...but it's the threads like this where most everyone stays in touch and invites others to join in on the learning and fun, that makes BYC so special!
