If they decide to go broody this year, I'd love to breed and conserve them! The unofficial name of the breed is the Greek tsouloufati (translates to Greek crested) closely related to the karagouniki, another breed known for their good laying ability, the Greek cresteds are mostly known for being good free range birds, good broodies and mothers, and good fliers, I can personally attest to the last one!
Definitely do so. I've unfortunately known of two breeds in the US either extinct or at the doors of it, and been watching Game breeds be in the cross hairs with rising animal rights activists.

I do love me some of the new import breeds (part of my flock feral flock is a literal mix of them) but it definitely has hit the american breeds hard. Less people breeding quality heritage types.

Ugh my pet peeve are ARAs, animal welfare is great, but animal rights activism is all about anthropomorphising animals, it's only doing harm! If the gals decide they want to go broody for me, I'll definitely hatch a bunch of chicks!

I have had some first hand experiences with them, and our farm in general. They care so much for animals they don't realize there a breed of goats in the US that are naturally earless  they were smart enough to call the cops on my dad because the state they threated him with a bolt cutter is in favor of livestock defense with force.

Right? Here in Greece we have a massive feral parrot problem, so much so that they're taking all the nesting sites from our native species. What are ARAs doing? Buying canaries and budgies from pet shops and setting them free :he
Of course lets destroy local eco systems in favor of invasive species.

I love the mustangs but we gotta get them under control before it too late.

Anyways, we have some more interesting breeds, I can do some searching and give you a more complete overview of all our landrace breeds if you'd like! And I'll definitely try to get some better photos of my gremlins
