Chat room for non religious poultry keepers! :D

That is an interesting degree topic combination. Lucky you!

This is way late, but I wanted to reply now that I actually remembered you posted this

That degree was more of a catch-all for all topics that fell under that sort of blanket. Mine focused more on the ecology side of it, for instance, though obviously evolutionary biology is a big factor in understanding ecological structure and niche forming. But yeah, I really enjoyed earning that degree. :D

Does anyone still read Richard Dawkins (The Selfish Gene)? I am old enough that it was quite revolutionary thinking when it came out. Maybe it is mainstream now. Worth a read anyway!

I hadn't heard of this one, but will definitely look into it! I already have a ton of genetics books on my 'purchase this at some point' list 🤭

Dawkins is well worth a read. He is one of the folk who created the gene-centric view of evolution. To my generation he was a sort of hero, a next generation Darwin in his understanding and explaining evolution.

I have been for awhile now..thinking and dreaming of a bantam 1kg rooster or preferably a Pekin rooster and 2 bantam ducks...so it goes on.

I would have crave in and fulfill my wishes/dreams, but the weather has been to much rain, and I have not work out where to quarantine the ducks and the rooster.

The weather saves me from adding more to my flock.😄

Haven't seen a post here in a while so I thought I'd give us a bump to say hey! :frow I've been crazy busy with classes, but I miss being able to hang out on BYC and chat whenever. About 6 more weeks and I'll have at least a little break from classes for the holidays, though. :fl

How is everyone else doing? And how's the weather treating y'all this time of year? We went from summer to mild to downright chilly here and my birds are less than pleased by this development. 😅
