Hmm let me think...not really. The biggest thing that's going on here would be this year's Eurovision fiasco I guess. It's pretty late so I might be completely forgetting something

I wondered if it wasn't super late over there! I have a friend who lives in the Netherlands and we're always having to figure out timing for chatting and such because of the 6 hour difference in time between here and there!

Yesss, Eurovision! I actually watched it for the first time this year because of the friend mentioned above. I was so sad that Käärijä didn't win, what an absolute bop! And seeing him get all excited when the votes were being finalized only to be dethroned at the last minute was such a heartbreak!

Yeah, I call that "Bible thumping". I like to open up and share my beliefs if people ask, but people get aggressive with me for being Christian these days so... 'is best to wait 'till someone asks, lol

I know someone here has silkie chickens. Are they a good breed? I've always wanted to know of they are good layers, are docile, live decently long, etc.

Oh, how exciting! You'll have to post pictures when they do hatch!

My next batch is due a week from Sunday, little silkied Cochin bantams. I'm setting more eggs this weekend from my Blue pen, and I've been extra excited because of that chance that I might finally, finally hatch a Splash! I've hatched a few dozen now that were supposed to be from Blue x Blue breedings, but not a single Splash yet! I'm dying for a silkied Splash Cochin over here!!

I have 3 Serama hens sitting on 2 eggs lol. They will be hatching any day now.

I'm actually team Loreen, so I was (and still am) super glad she won and got the unofficial Miss Eurovision title. But I will say, I HATED Cha Cha Cha back in March or something, but especially near the first semi-final it really grew on me. I was also talking about the drama that the Greek entry came with because yes, that's also a story of its own

MysteryChicken has them, I had three for one week and then they died. My silkie mixes are great though

I have Silkies, but can't say I'm the greatest fan of them as a breed. They're hardy and lay decently when not broody, but mine have never been overly human-friendly or interesting personality-wise, and I don't much like the crested look they have. But that's just my tastes! I will say the roosters have been some of the best flockmasters I've ever had, going to great lengths to protect their girls. They have lived a long time for me, too. My old man, Reuben, hatched in 2014, and his two offspring were 2016 babies, so they're getting up there, too. Their mother lived to about 8 and a half years old.

Oh my goodness! I might have something somewhat similar going on over here, four broodies wanting to brood and not enough eggs to go around. Crazy chickens.

I honestly don't have a huge problem with Loreen winning, just that I would have rather seen Käärijä win personally because I liked his performance more, it was so fun to watch and the song is so catchy to me! But my friend had framed it as the show being about the whole act being entertaining, not just the song, and I didn't find Loreen's act all that interesting by comparison, so that was my thought process. I loved that the audience was chanting Cha Cha Cha while they were trying to tally the votes, though.

No, it was something about a few of the countries' juries colluding to try and push each other through to the finals, but it was pretty blatantly obvious when all of the semi-final votes were compared. I don't remember the exact countries, I'd have to pull up the link she sent me. Apparently that's why the semi-finals were televote only this year, though.

Also as you would've guessed, I gotta say, yall broody people are lucky!

Ah, that rings some bells. Not too sure which countries, to be honest moat drama gets forgotten quickly, plus I'm still hurt that Ronela (Albania) didn't go to the finals. This year's semi-finals were a mess IMO. Poland passed while Georgia didn't (that's a whole different story). I guess I feel a little better about the whole non-broody thing now, I'm still pretty mad about it, I've got a laying silkie mix with a nest filled with eggs, and she's still not broody!
