I do this whenever I clean out the coop. Usually in the spring, but sometimes both spring and fall. My run is like yours; it gets wet at the edges when the rain blows in. The shavings disappear into the dirt/compost in the run. I shovel a bunch out in the spring and put it on my garden. The plants love it!I have a question can I put the wood shavings from in the coop out into the run? They're not really dirty but I was gonna lay new ones down for the next couple months. My runs covered for the most part but the sides get a little muddy when it rains
Making kombucha is easy. If you know someone who brews it near you, ask them for a SCOBY so you can make your own. If you don't know anyone who brews, this link will tell you how to make your own SCOBY:You make kombucha? That’s cool! I really like it, but I don’t get it often because it’s so expensive. Is it hard making your own?
No thanks. But someone else might.Would anybody like to do an article for my newspaper? You would be credited. It is freelance and you can do anything poultry related, that would go with this month’s theme (Halloween).

If you google "How to brew kombucha at home," there are tons of sites to tell you how. I should post a "how to" on my thread...![]()
