I had 10 quail eggs in the little space left over after putting 15 (or was it 16?) turkeys eggs in one Brinsea. I totally forgot the quail eggs were due to hatch, and before I could get them out they were already hatching.

I have this project I'm working on it is easter Egger hens with a cochin bantam roo.so far the offspring has been like a cochin with ear tufts and has colored ear lobes. Their really cool! Would anyone be interested in any hatching eggs?

Frizzle is not recessive, if they have one copy they will be frizzled. And one copy is all you want them to have - two copies and they are called frazzles, and they have a lot of problems, especially with their feathers. Always put a smooth rooster over frizzled hens or a frizzled rooster over smooth hens, do not breed two frizzles together.

he looks double barred. A single barred has wider Dark bands on each feather and a narrower white band. A double barred had wider white bands and narrower dark bands.

A double barred male over solid females will produce 100% single barred birds.

Only 6 hatched out of the 10 eggs. Not surprising. We had storms and tornadoes Tuesday and the electric went off from Tuesday evening to Wednesday morning. The incubator would have cooled down when they were getting ready to hatch, or they may have already been hatching. When I saw them last night, I counted 6 and they were fully dried off, so they must have been hatching right about the time the electric was off.
