Then do people sell eggs with food coloring on them for identification?  I'd think it would be nice to know the exact parents, or at least hen, for records, but I can see that freaking out some folks! :D
I thought about trying to do that with my geese but have just been doing pen #s instead this year.
no, I wouldn't sell them that way for hatching. I just mark pen# on each egg for selling. I only food color if over got an issue, like the hen who is avoiding the boys!

A lot of people use a pencil or marker to write the pen number and/or other info on the eggs.

Yep, that's what I'm doing with my 3 pens of geese. I've got a pair, but also a trio and a quad. With the trio/quad it would be nice to know the exact parentage of the eggs to compare goslings as they grow up. But passing out tie-dyed eggs to the uninitiated might get crazy. Looking into trap nesting (more for some of my chickens) but not that organized yet.

I feel you all with the not wanting to sell dyed eggs thing. I really want to mark all my cemani hens this year so I know who is throwing the best chicks but then I feel like if I ever want to sell extra eggs the colors might freak people out, lol.

they really do that? i have 3 eggs from my EE in my bator that are clears but all the other eggs from that pen and the same roo are growing. i know my EE like to dis include herself and is picked on by the roo...but i hatched her eggs last year when she was covered by a different roo and they hatched.

I am guessing you are right that blue one is pied... it has a tiny dark blaze down middle of beak too... another dark one (gray?) is out and well... 6th one is may or may not make it, needs time...

Adding that 6th didn't make it...

I love these little guys!! :)
Tammy is amazing and her ducks are awesome!!! :D

:'( so sorry about the little one. How are the others?

It was my own fault, rushed her... a 7th pipped, but he just didn't have any strength left... :(

Don't see any others with movement... think it was too much humidity during incubation...

But I got...

5 very strong, happy little Calls!!! :D

Glad you got the 5 but I'm so sorry that the others didn't make it. Looking forward to pictures of the 5 little fluffy butts :)
