Now that I have your attention!!! My wife wants to get rid of most of the chickens we have and get more chickens she was wondering what are the best layers and the most docile?

These are the breeds I'm thinking about

Orps
Sussex
Wyandottes
Rocks
or any other u might suggest!

we have orps, rir, nh reds and all are great layers and very friendly, my favorites by far!!!

Our Red Sex-link and Australorps have been great layers and are very sweet and docile. Our children pick them up and pet them all the time and the Red Sex-link likes to follow me around.

I wanted top layers when I bought my girls. I have Australorp (very friendly), RIR, Red Sex Link, Black Sex Link, Barred Rock, and Amerucana. They are starting to lay now. Good Luck!
