Chic Chick 'Bator *UPDATED*

My prissy bator is working beautifully well and I am due to hatch eggs
next thursday and friday.
My question is this.....
Does the light switching on and off bother the chicks? It seems as if it would and I never thought about that. I don't open my bator from about three days before the hatch and not until all eggs are hatched so the chicks are usually in there for about three days.
Have you found it bothers them and if so how do you rectify the problem?
Thanks very much!

Okay someone offered my husband a cabinet incubator for $100 but that is all the extra money we have so I have decided to have him build this for me instead and spend the extra money getting hatching eggs and start on my chicken tractor! My DH is going to build it this friday on his day off and I can't wait to hatch eggs I want to set them to hatch around Easter!!!

A couple questions I thought I had read somewhere that I should use more then 1 thermometer, does that mean 2 digital? Also does anybody know if walmart quit selling the water wiggler?

Well it is still an option but all I know it is that it has a wooden case, I think they bought it new, and it has a wooden case. I am really have no need to hatch that many chicks. I already have 14! I have never hatched anything and was worried about getting in over my head with the cabinet incubator. What do you really think I should do?

Get the cabinet incubator. If you decide you don'twant it and it is in good shape sel it for $250 - $300.

GO with the deal and turn a few bucks while you can.

I think there isn't a person on BYC with an bator that didn't start out saying those exact words. Now we're trying to figure out where we're going to put 8 dozen eggs when they arrive.

Hey! I resemble that remark! I owe my hatching addiction to MissPrissy and Bammony. They were the two that worked the hardest on me to convince me to start hatching. Little did they know that they were creating a monster....
