Mine is the same way. I gave him 2 benedryl about an hour before they started, and he is out like a light. Imagine the vet said to give him 3...he would be in a coma if i gave him 3. He hurt his leg/shoulder today jumping down the steps so it is good he is sleeping. he is limping on it and I am :flhoping he only jarred it and it will be better by morning. I cannot afford a vet bill right now!

hey, how does ones status change here? I was a new egg and now I notice I am out of the brooder????? i hope my eggs make it out of the brooder in 20 days!

Oh, chickn, that's awful! i'm so sorry to hear that so much went wrong while you were gone. I feel like i can't leave my flock for more than a few hrs---i don't know who i could trust to care for them like i do! The weather was pretty rotten all week, although we saw some sun here the last two days.

Our kids wanted us to do fireworks tonight, but it was so windy here, we thought it wouldn't be safe. Then i thought about the chickens---would they freak out?

Sounds like they would have, so i guess it's good we didn't do the fireworks. We usually get the fountain kind, and avoid the loud bang kind. But the whistling and popping and even the sparkling might still scare the girls.

Our kids still want to have fireworks sometime, cuz we've done them every year here up til now. We'll have to figure out something else, since i don't want to scare my chickens!

oh god ya, thats the best part of working for the local vet, we take care of the strays in town as far as dogs cats etc, so all i had to do is put in a call and he dropped them off that night. he was happy too not having to care for chickens for longer than he had to. i guess he just drove them around in the back of the truck! LOL little field trip.
