Chick attacked by another broody hen- Hurt Leg

I think Hubble is doing very well! I’m glad that he or she is using it’s bad leg some now. The wound will close eventually. You have done a very good job with them. When the chick is better, do you plan to reintegrate them back with the others?
Yeah, he seems to be doing fine. I’m still either spraying his back with vetericyn plus or putting triple antibiotic ointment on it.

Anyways, yeah, I was going to but didn’t know when exactly was a good time. He still has a limp, but he’s getting around pretty good on his leg. I’m just a little worried the others will try picking at his back even though his fuzz is starting to cover it up now and it’s scabbed over. Mumble doesn’t bother it but that doesn’t mean everyone else won’t.

If there's no bad odor, then you're good.
Looks to be scabbing and healing over well.

Hope your little one makes a full recover!
No odor that ive smelled and no seeping, so I don’t think there’s any infection but this is the first wound I’ve dealt with outside of bumblefoot. I wasn’t sure if it had been healing like it should. Anyways, it was hard to get a good picture.

Yes I would wait longer until his back is healed. A large dog crate with food and water can be a good way to reintroduce them. Or with a fence where they can see each other. The broody should protect him from the others. They look so cute together.

Honestly, you can’t even tell he was ever hurt if it wasn’t for the blu-kote staining his down. He doesn’t have any limp that I can see and the wound on his back is almost completely gone/healed up.

I hope he turned out to be a pullet because I already have 7 boys as is. Also, he has a double toe on the leg that got hurt, lol.

Hubble is an EE x Salmon faverolles ( I think my faverolles roo is the dad, lol, can’t be sure ).

A fully healed Hubble! And they’re integrated back into the flock ( there was some chest bumping but nothing more ). Not going to lie, I didn’t think we’d get to this point considering how bad things looked ( to me ) when it first happened. Distressed peeping, Hubble laying on his back unable to get back up with a leg kicking and Mumble trying to keep Cookie away from Hubble while accidentally stepping on him in the process. I was sure I’d find him dead the next day but here we are almost two weeks later.

I'm glad to see Hubble out and about.
It's good that he's back with the flock as well.
Thank you for the sweet photos and update:)
