Chick attacked by another broody hen- Hurt Leg

@azygous just kind of wanting your input too. it’s still alive and under mom, but I did get it out to eat and drink some more of the electrolyte/vitamin water. Is there really more I can do other than to leave it be?

The chick looks like it's already recovering. I would keep it with its broody. Forget about a sling for now. The chick may very well be back to normal walking tomorrow. Put sugar in the water.

Okay, I hope for that outcome. Now, I did put vitamins and electrolytes in the water. Is that enough or do you still recommend putting sugar in there too?

Chick is still alive and under mom, so that’s something. I leave at work at 5am and don’t get off until 2pm, so I won’t be able to really check on it until I get home. This is going to drive me up the wall

So, I didn’t have to go to work as early as I thought so I was able to check on the chick this morning. It’s still alive and it seems like it’s trying to use it’s leg, but the leg is still getting dragged along. It doesn’t seem to be able to open its toes/move its foot. I don’t know if that’s because it’s still a fresh wound and it doesn’t want to move it or it can’t.

I’m home and chick is still alive and hobbling along. There’s more bruising on it’s leg that I missed yesterday, so I took pictures. And I took more pictures of its back and I know now it’s hard to tell because of the blue kote, but do I need to do anything to the open wound other than keeping it clean?? Will it close back up on its own?

I’ll have a video up of it moving around in a bit.

The chick is really trying, but make sure that it can get it’s footing on a nonslip surface. The shavings are good but it was slipping on the tarp. It’s left foot is really injured, and making it unbalanced. I sure hope that it makes it. The broody is trying to show the chick the ropes.

Yeah, Mumble is doing fairly well for being a first time broody. She absolutely hates me being anywhere near her, though.

What could I put down under the chips? The pop up tent is the only thing I have other than moving her to a completely different coop that she’s never been to before. I have a 12inx12in rabbit cage with a plastic tray but it’s way too small to keep her and chick in for any extended period of time.

I’m worried if I move her to a completely new place, I’ll break her and she’ll abandon the chick. Or is that only a concern when they’re sitting on the eggs? But the chick is eating and drinking, his crop was full when I was putting more spray on it today. I think he has a good chance
